FOUNDATION IN ART & DESIGN

The Foundation in Art & Design programme provides pathways to pursue further undergraduate studies in Graphic Design, Interior Architecture and Design and Furniture and Product Design. During the one-year programme, students will be exposed to a general art and design education to enable them to gain experience and knowledge in practical studio work, 2D and 3D design, research and writing skills for design. The modules are specially-crafted so as to develop student’s skills on visual analysis, fundamental drawing, colour studies, research and critical writing skills. Once they complete the course, they would be able to start Year 1 of the degree programme of their choice.

On completion of the programme, students will be able to:
• Understand drawing as a fundamental process for visual research and the development of communication ideas.
• Demonstrate an ability to conceive and develop ideas in a wide range of media.
• Demonstrate a professionally oriented attitude to studio practice and ability to work as part of a team.

Entry Requirement

5 relevant credits in SPM / GCE ‘O’ Level or equivalent qualifications

Portfolio Review

For students who wish to enrol in this programme but have not taken an Art subject their SPM or 'O' Levels, they need to submit a portfolio for review by the faculty to gauge their abilities
