First City UC is a popular educational destination for international students. Currently, there are students from more than 30 countries pursuing their studies at the University College. 

To apply for study in First City UC, the procedure is as follows:

Fill in a copy of the application form, which is obtainable from First City UC here. The application form must be accompanied by the following:

  1. Certified copies of all certificates, diplomas and degrees received.
  2. Academic transcripts of your high school grades.
  3. Payment by bank draft of USD 750 being the initial payment for Application Fee, Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGSfee and Medical Insurance which must be made payable to FIRST CITY CORPORATION SDN BHD.
  4. Photocopy of your valid passport (including all the blank pages)
  5. 8 copies of recent passport-sized (3.5cm X 5cm) photographs (Blue-coloured background)
  6. Medical examination report from your home country doctor. Please check for the list of panel clinics in your country approved by EMGS at educationmalaysia.gov.my
  7. No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the Malaysian Embassy in Sub-Saharan countries, or Letter of Eligibility (if applicable)

Upon acceptance of First City UC and payment, First City UC will apply to the EMGS for the Student Visa which is required for all international students entering Malaysia. This process will take about 8 weeks. The student will be informed as soon as the Student Visa is approved and will be advised to make his/her travel plans to Malaysia.

All international students will be met by a representative from the Students Affairs and Services Department at the airport, and transportation will be provided for students whose accommodation has been arranged by First City UC. Thus, it is important that students provide the details of their arrival in Malaysia to First City UC 7 days in advance before departure from their home countries. Student Affairs and Services Department (SASD) staff will pick up student from the airport and bring them to the First City UC hostel. Within 7 working days of arriving in Malaysia, it is mandatory for First City UC to arrange for a medical screening by any EMGS appointed clinics.

Living In Malaysia

Malaysia is a modern, multiracial and multiethnic country with a population of about 30 million. The official language is Malay. English is widely spoken, but Mandarin and other Chinese dialects, Tamil and Hindi are also used.

Climate

Malaysia is an equatorial country with hot and humid climate most of the year. The wettest period may result in heavy rainfall brought by the monsoons, which usually occurs from October to February. The country experiences some dry inter-monsoon periods as well. The average temperature ranges between 22°C and 32°C.

Food and Daily Living

Malaysia is a food paradise. The wide range of cuisine is a reflection of the multiracial population. Students can budget according to their needs and live reasonably well on approximately USD10-15 per day.

First City UC is located in Bandar Utama Township, Petaling Jaya, which is adjacent to Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia.
